New Custom Finish Options and Profiles

Acid Wash

If you like a very, very antique-looking frame, we have a new finish option called Acid Wash. As the name implies, we wash the gilding with an acid to give it a mottled, oxidized look. Available on Sterling Silver, Metal Leaf, and Copper gilding only (this process will NOT work on true gold). Please note that this process is not easy to control, so about all you can specify is the type of metal leaf, and "light" or "heavy" acid washing. Additional charges apply based on the frame size. Not recommended for fully-gilded frames. Frame below is Genoa with acid-washed copper:

For additional options, including muting, matte panels, and veneers, please see our “Options” page at:  http://mountaingoatframes.com/finish_options.html

Profiles

We’ve re-cut two of our larger profiles to make them slightly narrower and a bit more elegant. Pisa and Venice are now 4 inches and 3 ¼ inches respectively. See the new dimensions here.

2008 Announcements

New Name:

As of Jan 1, 2008, we’ll have a new “official” name to reflect our expanded business. We’ll be keeping the same web and e-mail addresses. We’ll now officially be known as Mountain Goat Arts! Nancy’s painting and writing business will be combined with Tom’s framing business to create an expanded partnership. Watch for new happenings along that front as the year progresses J

We wish you all a prosperous and abundant 2008, and let us know if we can help you with your framing needs!
